Duke wasn’t so sure he was going to like my new video iPod. Turns out, he did. We had to listen to “Hound dog” like a million times.
I got a new iPod for Christmas. Well, actually it was on the eighth day of Hannakuh, but I’m not Jewish.
So anyway, the new video iPods are sweet! It’s so much thinner than my Mini (which I will probably give to Jen). I don’t think I’ll fill-up the 30 GB with music, but I bet I will fill it up with video. We already loaded the Princess Nat video slideshow and several Washington Post video podcasts.
I love technology two
If it wasn’t for technology, I wouldn’t have my Powerbook, video chatting, wireless internet access or my really sleek new toy. I also wouldn’t have my job. At times, the technical support aspect of being the Multimedia Coordinator wears on me; but most of the time, I am left alone to imagine new ways to use the technology we have in the newsroom, and beg and plead for the technology we haven’t yet adopted. What more could a geek girl/journalist like me ask for in a job? Hmmm, maybe a raise!?!
I recently met with a woman who works for an ad agency in Kansas City. We discussed the job description she was developing for a new position at her company over a couple of Chili’s Quesadelia Explosions. The Multimedia Strategist (as we came to call the position) is someone who would need to know what technology is available and be able to creatively apply it to a client’s message development, display and distribution. The more I think about it, the more I realize that this is exactly the kind of job I hope to land someday. Someday hopefully being a year from now, when I am DONE with school. Four more classes to go… school starts Jan. 20.
