Free turkey

Day two on the job at Lucasfilm as an Internet Marketing Manager.

There are a few things that I feel I must mention:

1. The free turkey.
2. The Yoda fountain is smaller than I expected.
3. My boss told me I HAD to go out and buy an Xbox and a Wii. (I think Jay called him and put him up to it, but who cares?) Seriously, a job that requires me to play video games? Are you freakin’ kidding me?!!!

First, the turkey. Lucas gives every employee a free turkey for Thanksgiving (vegetarians are offered a meat-free alternative). Is this job great or what?

Chillin’ with Yoda.

And yeah, the Yoda fountain isn’t life-size. Not that Yoda is a big guy or anything, but I just thought the fountain might have been a little bigger?

My first paycheck hits the mailbox next Friday and we will promptly march first, to the bank to deposit the check and second, to Best Buy to purchase a couple of game consoles and of course, some LucasArts games!

But seriously, I am very stoked about this job and this opportunity. I’m stoked about working for Bill Gannon and all the cool online folks as well as the marketing guys and gals.

We are launching some great games in 2008 and I will be helping spread the word about how cool they are on LucasArts.com.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get back to researching games and gaming. GDC here I come!!!
