Video Diary From a Journalism Instructor: Not enough licenses to go around

This week, my Digital Newsgathering class at San Francisco State University is spending lab time learning how to edit video using Final Cut Express and the Flip video editing software, so I decided I should start a video diary documenting my experience as a journalism instructor.

This video was recording on a MacBook using PhotoBooth. I did not edit it.

Journalism profs, tell me, what do you do when your school can’t afford to buy software and tools for your lab? Do you make the students buy the software and use their own equipment? Do you apply for grants to fund technology at your school?
